Hello friends? how's ur life? I hope we're all fine. Ok, to the point...

This posting is about my first experience in guiding the students of SMP N 1 Jaten in conversation and telling story class. Honestly, since i've been here, i haven't yet taught the students in the class. My teaching schedule will start on Wednesday 28 September. One and a half months to go, I will teach on Wednesday in class VIII E and Friday in class VIII B. I had done the observation last week and this week will be my first time in teaching.
As a SSN school, SMP N 1 Jaten always tries to improve the students' academic and non-academic skills. For academic skill, the school obligates the students of third grade to join zero time. It's extra lesson to prepare national exam. Besides, the school facilitates the achieved students to prepare some championships. For non-academic skill, the school obligates the students of first and second grade to join one of the extracurricular activities provided. One of the activities is conversation and telling story.

Conversation and Telling Story

Today, I had chance to follow the second meeting of CTS class and helped Mrs.Endang Sapta W to guide the students. The class is always held on Monday at 1 p.m in Language Laboratory or class IX F. Today's class was very exciting. It consisted of 20 students from class VII and VIII. I met the students having high motivation in learning English especially Speaking. Today's theme is "introduction".

At the beginning, the students came one-by-one in front of the class to introduce themselves. Last week, they had made the text of introduction guided by Mrs. Fatimah. As you see in the picture above, the students looked confident to speak in front of the class. Mrs.Endang and I would revise the students making errors. After finishing the introduction, the students were asked by Mrs. Endang to make a dialogue text involved two persons telling about personal identity.
At this moment, i was getting close to the students because i went around the class to ask the students' difficulties. I was so surprised. The students were not shy to ask me. Even, Mrs.Endang gave me full time to guide the students. Almost all the students asked me to check their writing or some of them asked me about the vocabularies. After finished, some of the students practiced the dialogue in front of the class. They were great though some errors happened. They pronounced some words wrong. In this class, errors didn't matter because the students could learn from the mistakes. The most important is trying is better than none and practice makes perfect. The class was closed at 2.15 p.m happily.
It's my story, what's yours?...
